Unto the wondrous populace of the Outlands, do I Roana, Seneschal of Caerthe, send greetings.
It has been brought to my attention that there may be some confusion regarding the gate fees for Striezelmarkt In Dresden- Caerthe Twelfth Night this upcoming Saturday, January 7, 2023.
The site fee, (which includes feast!!) for adults is $20 and $10 for children ages 6-14. A $5 non-member surcharge will be added for those in attendance without an active membership.
The question has arisen “Did my site fee paid through SCARS for last year’s cancelled Twelfth Night cover this year?” Unfortunately, it does not.
We cannot hold attendant site fees per the Kingdom’s mass cancellation policy in the SCARS financial policy, section V.C. Lady Tsura had followed up with the Society exchequer who would have allowed the hold if the rescheduled event would have been 4 weeks or less from the original date.
Once it was confirmed that Twelfth Night 2022 was not going to happen, Their Excellencies penned a letter announcing the cancellation and shared the request for refunds procedure. This letter was posted in the March 2022 issue of the Outlandish Herald as well as sent out in Baronial and Kingdom social media blasts sharing the same information. I have added their words below.
I understand that this may be disappointing news for some. Please know that this decision was not made by any particular individual, but is an upholding of our Kingdom Law.

Thank you so much for your desire to attend Caerthen Twelfth Night.
At this time, we would like to offer a refund of your pre-registration. Please look through the options provided, and choose the one that makes sense for you and your family.
We are sorry that circumstances made hosting the event impossible, and though we had hoped to be able to reschedule, it is clear that that is not to be: We shall content ourselves with hosting our SCA friends in smaller ways for the rest of this year, and to meeting in lands throughout the Kingdom. Obviously, we can all look forward to an especially festive Twelfth Night in 2023!
